Verbose Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses Verbose (the "Service") and is incorporated into the Verbose Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to this AUP. Violating it may result in action against your account, up to suspension or termination, and, where required, reports to law enforcement.
Verbose speaks and rewrites text that you choose to provide — typically text you copy to your clipboard. You are responsible for that text and for how you use what the Service produces. The Service is powered in part by third-party AI service providers acting as our processors, and this AUP passes through the use restrictions we are required to impose on our users.
1. Comply with the law
Do not use the Service, or any output it produces, to promote or engage in illegal, harmful, or abusive activity. In particular, do not use the Service to generate, process, or make available content that is illegal or prohibited under applicable law in the relevant jurisdiction, or in violation of export-control laws.
2. Protect children — zero tolerance
Do not use the Service to create, process, request, or distribute any content that sexualizes or exploits children, including any sexualized depiction involving minors or subjects of ambiguous age. We treat suspected child sexual abuse material with zero tolerance and will report it to the relevant authorities (in the United States, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) and cooperate with law enforcement.
3. Do not harm people
Do not use the Service or its output to:
- critically harm, or promote critically harming, human life (yours or anyone else's), including terrorist activity;
- develop biological, chemical, or other weapons of mass destruction, or to destroy property;
- engage in animal cruelty;
- defame a person, portray a person in a false light, or harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or dox any person;
- deceptively impersonate a real person — including by generating speech presented as the voice or words of a real person without their consent;
- depict any real person's likeness in an intimate, sexual, or pornographic context, or otherwise violate a person's privacy or right of publicity;
- engage in espionage, hacking, fraud, scams, phishing, or spamming;
- falsify, forge, or fabricate documents, records, identities, credentials, signatures, endorsements, or evidence.
4. Be transparent about AI
- Do not represent that AI-generated output — rewritten text or synthesized speech — was created by a human.
- Do not use the Service to mislead others about your use of AI, including by creating fake accounts or personas, or passing off Service output as independent human work where that misleads.
- Do not use synthesized speech to deceive a listener into believing they are hearing a live human speaker where that matters (for example, in calls, voicemail fraud, or authentication contexts).
5. Do not misuse or resell the Service
Do not:
- resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise make the Service or its underlying AI capabilities available to third parties, including operating a website or service that offers Verbose output in exchange for payment;
- use the Service or its output to develop, train, or improve machine learning models or AI services that compete with the Service or with the AI services underlying it;
- scrape, harvest, or systematically extract input or output, or distill model behavior or outputs;
- access the Service through bots, scripts, or other automated or non-human means, other than the official Verbose applications and documented interfaces used as intended;
- take unauthorized actions on behalf of others.
6. Do not attack the Service
Do not:
- disrupt, interfere with, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its safety systems, including circumventing rate limits, usage metering, billing, or other protective measures and safety mitigations;
- jailbreak, adversarially prompt, or prompt-inject the Service or its underlying AI models;
- introduce viruses or malware, or spam or overload (e.g., DDoS) the Service;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise seek to obtain the source code, models, or algorithms of the Service or its underlying AI services (except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law);
- strip, alter, or circumvent embedded provenance metadata or watermarks in Service output, or remove or obscure proprietary notices.
7. High-stakes and regulated use
Do not use the Service to make high-stakes automated decisions that affect a person's safety, legal or material rights, or well-being (for example credit, educational, employment, housing, insurance, legal, or medical decisions), and do not use it in a regulated industry in a way that violates that industry's regulations. Service output is not professional advice.
8. Enforcement and reporting
We may investigate suspected violations, remove or refuse to process content, throttle usage, and suspend or terminate accounts or device sessions. Where a violation also breaches obligations we owe to our upstream service providers, we may be required to act without prior notice.
To report a violation or content that concerns you, contact [email protected].
9. Changes
We may update this AUP as the Service, the law, or our upstream obligations change. Material changes will be announced as described in the Terms of Service. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
